WOW Wednesday

I have to say it isn’t feeling very “WOW” around here today

Grey, cold, heavy workload – you get the picture !

As it feels like the colour has quite literally been sucked out of the day I recommend a browse round Kristina Werners blog for some colourful inspiration, look HERE for specific colur related posts.

Also I like the colour boards on this wedding web site, Look HERE

Type on Tuesday

Fonts are a very personal thing, whilst I chose them for a particular purpose, within that I still tend to gravitate towards the same fonts, so I always pick one of three san serif condensed fonts and I ALWAYS pick the same sans serif block font.

So why do I have a HUGE collection of different fonts ?

I suppose its a little like clothes we may have a wardrobe full of different outfits but we all tend to wear the same half dozen sets of clothes.

So here is my Font Wardrobe, the fonts are all freebies and most are available from Da Font

Freebie Friday

After all that talk on Wednesday of type inspired papers I decided to create some of my own.

This looks equally appealing, even though I say so myself, printed on white or cream card stock. I designed this so that it prints off on A4 sized card.

I think it is a great background paper to add to your basics alongside graph paper and ledger paper.

as usual it can be downloaded HERE

WOW Inspiration Wednesday

Right now this change in the weather is really inspiring me to get things done !

I think its a combination of an upturn in the weather, longer days and a change in my eating habits that has led to a boots in energy levels, not a huge boost, I haven’t gone to the dark side and started exercising or anything, but enough to see an improvement in my general productivity levels.

On the downside I am not overly impressed by a lot of the new scrapbook products that are starting to trickle through to the UK stores, maybe its because I am getting long in the tooth now (in scrapbook years) I feel like I have seen it all before in some form or another.

Or maybe its because I am not really into vintage, retro, kitsch designs.

Don’t get me wrong I don’t hate all the new products out there, I really still like all the journaling, ledger type papers and I have noticed alot of the new stuff is based around type.

Even though this is a touch vintage I like it Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 Garbo

Obvious why I like this one ! Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934 Chaplin

Let me know what is inspiring you in the new products !

Monday at UKS

My latest freebie exclusive to UKScrappers is up on the site today.

The set includes a great ledger paper and a set of 12 number tags in two colourways, I used both the paper and the black number tags in my current mini album

I think that they are both really versatile, easily printable on A4 paper and even though they have a touch of vintage about them they are still clean and simple. As the numbers on the tags have been designed to be cream, I found that you get a better deeper colour if you use a cream cardstock to print them on. (they will still print on white cardstock)

Hope you can make use of them in your projects, let me know what you think.

Happy St Patricks Day to one and all

and I feel perfectly justified in saying that as my Husbands Father was born and bred in Galway even though my Husband is a Plastic Paddy

OK I have a free font I want to share, I love the chunky block-ness of this font, the number shapes and the very useful subscripts.

DOCK no11 can be downloaded here

WOW Wednesday and a mini album update

Another inspirational blog today from Kinsey Wilson

As a lot of “scrapbookers” blogs contain a mixture of personal posts as well as posts about their creative pursuits, please take on board I am recommending these “inspiring blogs” for their creativity not their personal stories, in some cases the two are intertwined.

Kinsey’s scrapbook pages/projects are detailed but not overloaded and often contain some quirky little design features that trip the inspiration switch for me.

I hope that they do the same for you.

Mini Album Update
I just realised that I haven’t posted a photo of my latest page from the 12 of twelve mini album. I am not convinced that that I am done with this page yet, I think that the photo page needs a location and date adding to it (we were at Whipsnade Zoo in the half term holiday)

But here it is anyway.

The background of the right hand page is a paper I designed myself and you will have to wait until Monday (check back here and on UKS) if you want to download that !
The journalling on the tag is all about my sons sense of style and that tag is sitting on a small collection of clothes labels that I have collected.
The photo page is made up of patterned paper and a vintage math flash card from Paper valise another seriously inspiring place.

Please feel free to comment.

New Printable Designs

Ok so I put these together over the weekend.

I am BIASED, but I love these!

The design is So very me !

These are the 3×4 inch cards, great for mini books, cards and as journaling cards for scrapbook pages.

I have also scaled the design and created a 6×6 version, if the interest is there then I will add that to the printables this week.

Hope you enjoy these. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think.

Download them here as usual.

Freebie Friday

I am so S-L-A-C-K

I’m afraid I haven’t got any of my designs ready to show you today

BUT I am going to point you in the direction of Alison Kimball whose blog I have been reading for a very long time and who has recently started doing some digi kits that she offers as freebies on her blog.

As I have said before I don’t do digi but the papers are always so very useful. I never use the other elements, so once I have downloaded a digi kit, I discect it and get rid of the all the other elements {sorry designers} then I add the papers to my folder, aptly and rather obviously labeled, digital papers.

I find it very useful that I can print these off on A4 paper or card as and when I need them and they don’t take up any of my storage space.

Go here to check out Alison’s kits

This one is VERY useful.
