PL cover page – unfinished

I still need a photo of all 4 of us but that can wait, this is my cover page and it means I am making progress and I am scrapping again . . . PHEW!

I haven’t listed any products as all my stuff is old but if you like something and want to know where I got it from just leave me a comment. The tag, family journaling card and the camera sticker are all my own designs.

Progress on PL

Hmmmm – none so far, I lie actually I am almost done with my cover page, seriously!

I seem to be infinitely better at getting stuff prepped than getting it done, I have collected stuff and designed journaling cards and then I seem to have spent all the rest of my time researching and getting inspired by other people instead of doing my own album.

I AM GOING TO RECTIFY THAT

so these maybe the last few bits I design for now. these cards are all 6×4, you can reduce the size that they print out in the printer menu, just scale them down using the percentage box marked scale.

These ones are 3×4 and inspired by my love of the iconic london bus image. The phone dial, I designed to include in my album as a record of who I spoke to on the the phone that day/week. ENJOY

More PL freebies

I think I might be getting obsessed, each time I think of an idea if I can make it into a journaling card for PL then I do.
There is so much inspiration out there, admittedly alot of my stuff is driven by the fact that I can’t find what I want elsewhere or I can but I want it in a different colour or I don’t actually want to buy it when I can make it myself.

Today’s offerings came about because I saw a freebie online that I loved, but I didn’t want like the colour combo, so thanks to Valerie Brown for the inspiration, I made my own version, this is for those of you who are using a month and or week titling card.

This design is simple and utilitarian, I left colour out of the equation so that it will go with everybody’s scheme and you have the ability to print it on white, cream or kraft cardstock depending on the look you want.

My December 2010 album and my PL album have just taken a major step backwards.

I lost a load of photos !! My fault entirely, which is what makes it more annoying, I didn’t download my photos onto the computer and my card reader has screwed up my camera card and I had to re-format the card.

So I have decided to abandon my Christmas Album and pick it back up this year in December.

I should be able to salvage the first two weeks of PL but it may have to be done with alternate photos taken later.

I am not very happy right now !

As promised I am creating some journaling cards (specifically PL size) I finished a few simple cards in various colour combos. Just print them out and cut down the middle (on the line)

No point in reinventing the wheel here just simple patterned cards, I kept the corners, so if you are going along the “rounded” route you can pull out your corner rounder and get punching.

The promise of sunshine

Just a quick post from me today to let you know I have some designs for PL journaling cards ready and I will be posting them on Sunday.

I have done some 4×6 as that is the size of the pockets I am currently using in my album and I have done some 3×4 ones for those of you that are using the PL pack A protectors.

Word Art

I am not a fan of quotes and sentiments, there are a handful of humorous and irreverent ones I like, but I am not big on using them in my scrap book albums.

I was cruising the web a few weeks ago, avoiding the laundry and the ironing as usual, when I came across a quote about motherhood that I really liked.

After a while, I decided to play around with it and turn it into a word art design, the intention was to print it out and frame it for my sister, I know that it will strike a chord with her too, as I am sure it does with lots and lots of you out there.

Needless to say I haven’t printed it out or got it framed yet, but I thought I would share it here, if the interest is there then I will make it available in a printable PDF format. Please leave a comment

I thought it might also look good printed out small onto a tag or journaling card, I think I may add this to my PL collection.

Week two 2012

Okay, well I am fast running out of excuses for having not started my PL album.

My printers are now both loaded up with ink, my WRMK page protectors arrived this morning and I am still making daily notes and taking photos.

However I am swamped with work right now, just finished a magazine commission and have a conference that I am helping to organise coming up on Saturday, so in all honesty I can’t see me getting time to do any PL stuff until Sunday.

All this “thinking time” is good though, I have been able to really nail down what I hope to achieve by doing this project, little things like getting more photos of the boys with me and their dad and maybe getting a few of the dreaded family photos in there too.

In terms of journalling I am aiming for one small story a day but I am anticipating that I won’t get that every week, so some weeks are just going to be bullet lists and the slow weeks I am hoping to get the boys to contribute something ( kinda risky, I know . . )

I have designed my first journalling cards, which I will share on here, at the moment I am doing them as 4×6 but once I am ready to share I will do 3×4 so that they fit the official small PL page pockets.

I am also compiling a board on pinterest
Its just a compilation of any freebie PL printables I find.
