The UK’s No:1 Kit Club

often imitated never beaten !

YES its OFFICIAL I am proud to announce I am a member of the GoGo DT

Janice and Lorraine very kindly, have given me the opportunity to create (hopefully) inspirational projects each month with their beautifully put together kits.

I am also helping to design the GoGo hybrids and their bespoke acrylic stamps.

If you are new to GoGo Kits head on over to the Club House and check out next months stunning kit.

To find out what the girls on the design team did with the June kit check out the gallery

Here are my first two layouts with the fabulous June Kit.

SUNSHINE

This is a stunning photo of my baby taken a number of years ago on a SUNNY summers day.

I chose the doily paper as it reflected the bright sunny colours of the photo, even though the pattern is bright and busy, mounting the photo onto the black card stock meant it didn’t clash.

I printed my journaling straight onto the luggage tag and then stitched lines underneath in pink (one of the doily colours) Finally before attaching the tag to the layout I wrapped the twine around the tag and threaded the small heart button on before tying it off.

I deconstructed the small chalk board and used it to add my hug, kiss, hug.

The June circle and the heart strip are both cut from the hybrid sheet.

PLAY TIME

This layout celebrates my “fur baby” and his willingness to be my photo model.

The June Kit has a great collection of brights and pastels, for this design I focused on the yummy
Amy Tangerine alphas combined with the viridian vignette dotty paper.

I created a “hanky edge” banner by cutting several of the patterned papers into triangles and layering them, some flat some with foam dots .

The die cut camera and the beautiful camera charm were perfect as accents to the journaling, which I printed on the backside of one of the papers which conveniently was graph paper.

Bilmey . . .

TEN whole days and no blog post !

Lots of deadlines – paid work related and creative too, in fact last week past in a blur, including two trips up to London, one for a school trip to the Tate Modern and one for work.

Spending this week catching up again both work, creatively and on the housework front too. I am 5 weeks behind with project life – but it isn’t an issue I am committing some time to it each evening at the moment and getting it done.

My Papercraft Card commissions are all unto date – PHEW !
Got a new one for the NOVEMBER issue (really) waiting for my attention.

I have even managed to squeeze in couple of layouts, WHAT ???

I know, I haven’t done any layouts for at least three years so whats the reason – well you will just have to wait and see . . but I am super excited and very honoured, keep tuning in to find out.

here are a couple of sneaks

Sharing . . .

On a Saturday

I have read Christine Middlecamp’s blog for quite sometime, I find inspiration in her use of colours, patterns and layers.

This summer she is sharing a tutorial called Mapping Happiness.

Essentially its a large framed board that you attach individual cards to, each card will document something that made you genuinely happy.Go read Christine’s blog for the full details

I am really attracted to the idea but I am not sure that I can commit the time to it, between Magazine commissions, project life, two jobs, our home and my family and a little something else (that I can’t share yet)

I do have a spare piece of wall begging for something to hang there, but I would have to figure out how I would make the concept fit my style/decor, cos I am not a fussy vintage kind of gal, so there is the Challenge.

Jubilee – getting in the mood

No real Jubilee plans for us – it feels a little bit strange, like not not having plans for Christmas !

My boys are at that “don’t care ” age too

The youngest is having a playground street party and they have gone into school dressed in red, white and blue.

I bought some cheap flag bunting to hang up and I think we will have a jubilee tea on Sunday, sandwiches with the crusts cut off and red velvet cupcakes but that is as far as it is going.

At least my fur baby was in an obliging mood when I wanted to take photos.
