Easter Saturday

WHEW, grateful for a two week break from routine

In the middle of my busiest period of work in my “work year”

Just back from my first GOGO GETAWAY- fantastic experience, huge learning curve, looking forward to the next one

Sad that Scrapagogo will be no longer – I have had a very enjoyable year creating for the design team and hope to be involved with future GOGO GETAWAY retreats (which will not be affected by the closure of scrapagogo) and any future adventures that Lorraine and Janice have. April will be the last Kit available and it is sure to be a stunner as will the layouts from the design team.

These are the layouts created in for the classes that I taught at the March 2013 GOGO GETAWAY

SCRAPAGOGO January Kit

seriously one of my favourites so far, patterns colours and textures so beautiful.

If you only sub to one kit a month make this your choice – its a great price, a british company, a fab design team with great inspiration (OKAY so I am biased) and you get a bespoke card, a bespoke stamp and hybrid printables all in.

Check out the blog, like the page on Facebook get some inspiration from the galleries.

So with out further ado here are my layouts made with the January kit.

Looking forward to Octobers Autumn Kit – WATCH THIS SPACE

I am staying up to date with project life, I have even managed to start filling in those previous weeks before the summer that I missed. I have to admit that it is very satisfying getting those done.

Not loving these wet cooler days or the dark mornings and shorter days, I am a “Lark” not an “Owl” but find it very difficult to rise especially on the dreary days.

Shssss – (insert hushed tone here) Don’t tell anyone but I am secretly starting to think about that large festive holiday in December, DON’T MENTION ITS NAME ! I have already bought three gifts too and designed my cards.
I am looking forward to doing December Daily as well, not sure how I am going to do that along with PL but I am committing to it – I will own up and say I am going to use my failed attempt from last year. I only managed a couple of pages – the rest stayed pretty but blank.

stay tuned

July Scrapagogo Layouts

I only just realised that I haven’t posted my two Scrapagogo layouts for July

How sloppy is that ! and what’s more I just received the August kit, Oh my is it lush – It certainly is, the full list of contents can be found here on the home page

Even though a lot of this months kit papers are pastel I wanted to show that they can be used just as easily with masculine photos. I cut out some of circular elements from the Websters picnic basket paper – the fly images go particularly well with the theme of this layout and the combination of the chiffon card stock with the grey dotty paper both compliments and lifts the dull colours of the photos.

The kite on the hybrid journaling card was carefully cut out and backed with more patterned paper.

I covered the paper flags with some of the patterned paper so that they coordinated with the layout. I love the texture that the AC thickers give this title.

I wanted to showcase all the beautiful summery papers that this months kit contains, so using two photos as my focus I created a grid using squares and rectangles of the papers, the blue card as a background really highlights their colours. The super basket stamp looks great as a background pattern.

I used the fabric to cover some buttons to add as an embellishment.

The flattened out cupcake case and the felt cherry make a great design detail breaking up the grid lines .

Looking forward to creating with the “Whistful Whimsies” August Kit

The UK’s No:1 Kit Club

often imitated never beaten !

YES its OFFICIAL I am proud to announce I am a member of the GoGo DT

Janice and Lorraine very kindly, have given me the opportunity to create (hopefully) inspirational projects each month with their beautifully put together kits.

I am also helping to design the GoGo hybrids and their bespoke acrylic stamps.

If you are new to GoGo Kits head on over to the Club House and check out next months stunning kit.

To find out what the girls on the design team did with the June kit check out the gallery

Here are my first two layouts with the fabulous June Kit.

SUNSHINE

This is a stunning photo of my baby taken a number of years ago on a SUNNY summers day.

I chose the doily paper as it reflected the bright sunny colours of the photo, even though the pattern is bright and busy, mounting the photo onto the black card stock meant it didn’t clash.

I printed my journaling straight onto the luggage tag and then stitched lines underneath in pink (one of the doily colours) Finally before attaching the tag to the layout I wrapped the twine around the tag and threaded the small heart button on before tying it off.

I deconstructed the small chalk board and used it to add my hug, kiss, hug.

The June circle and the heart strip are both cut from the hybrid sheet.

PLAY TIME

This layout celebrates my “fur baby” and his willingness to be my photo model.

The June Kit has a great collection of brights and pastels, for this design I focused on the yummy
Amy Tangerine alphas combined with the viridian vignette dotty paper.

I created a “hanky edge” banner by cutting several of the patterned papers into triangles and layering them, some flat some with foam dots .

The die cut camera and the beautiful camera charm were perfect as accents to the journaling, which I printed on the backside of one of the papers which conveniently was graph paper.
