So its finally here and I admit I am not going to bore you every single day with my Christmas Journal.
However I am going to attempt to report something everyday, possibly sharing a favourite decoration or a detail from my journal or just an aspect of my day that only happen in December.
Yesterday I managed to complete the cover of my Christmas Journal for this year, it didn’t start well, wrong glues, no matching letters, not enough capital letters, the whole thing just started to feel Bleugh and I nearly quit there and then !
But I looked back at my only completed Christmas, December documented Mini for inspiration and I loved that album SO much I persevered. I am not calling it done yet but I am moving on . . .
So here is my album cover (Simple Stories SNAP album) strip of paper and a strip of wash tape, an old Maya road clear calendar page some AC chipboard letters and a wooden bird tree decoration from Sainsburys.
Back to School Printables
. . . and welcome to the UKS Blog Hop, If you have stumbled in here and aren’t aware of the UKS Blog Hop then scoot on over to UKScrappers to the Blog Hop Thread and read all about it and see the rules and prizes up for grabs and there will be some freebies along the hop route too.
without further ado here is my contribution, a little twist on the September tradition of the back to school layout. I recently secured a Learning Support Assistants job at the primary school I have been a Mid Day Assistant at for the last six years, so my back to school layout is focused on ME.
And, I designed some freebies for you which you can pick up HERE just download the PDF’s print, cut, use and enjoy.
Dont forget to leave a comment, I am doing a prize giveaway too, more details on that tomorrow.
I will pick a commenter at random from toadys post, you have from 6am today until 6am tomorrow to leave a comment.
As you can see I used my two printable school cards these are 6×4 so can be used in Project Life type albums too. The Background paper is Studio Calico from the Here and There collection, the sticky chipboard newsprint letters are GCD fun and funky chipboard alphas , the black sticky chipboard letters are Prima canvas letters – Londonderry, the small globe journal card is another free printable from me, I trimmed it to size and used a punch to create the note book edge along the top. The paperclips are both from the new stationary range at Ikea as is the chalkboard speech bubble tag.

just popping in to say hello, just finished half term with the boys, a whole week off school. Unfortunately that means another seven weeks straight until the summer hols.
So how is everything with you guys ?
My creativity is a little lacking of late, since the demise of the ScrapaGoGo Design Team I haven’t been challenged to produce anything at all, I was designing the hybrids and the stamps for ScrapaGoGo plus putting together two layouts a month as part of the design team, now I’m not doing much at all.
My Project Life album is still ticking along and I am still loving the concept even though I was late to the party, originally I just didn’t “get it” now I do I don’t think I will document our lives in any other way.
I am doing little bits of designing here and there on my PL2014 stuff, its all a little disjointed at the moment, I have got lots of ideas and I have settled on a colour scheme, but it doesn’t look very cohesive at the moment.
I am essentially creating myself a core kit to work with next year, if I am successful then I fully intend to share it with everyone. Obviously as I am doing this for me and my personal tastes it won’t appeal to everyone but as it will be in a downloadable PDF for fat, just like my other freebie designs, then you can pick and choose which aspects you print off.
The theory is that I will do a set of two 6×4 cards, one title one filler; a set of four 3×4 fillers and a set of journalling cards one 6×4 two 3×4. if you do the standard PL pages (four 4×6 and four 4×3) this leaves you with five 4×6 slots for photos and two 4×3 slots for anything else, memorabilia, patterned paper etc.)
Along the way I may do bonus stuff just for the sheer hell of it – watch this space – sneak peek below
Any feedback appreciated xx
I have been doing alot of internet browsing in what little spare time I have, I thought I would share a couple of things I found. I am sure lots of you will already have been directed to these through pinterest already but just in case you missed them . . .
Firstly this place – word mark it a site where you type in an “example word” and it uses every font you have stored on your computer to show you what that word will look like. A fabulous way of making font decisions, especially if like me you are a font freek and have way to many.
Secondly – this place maps.stamen.com another great site, you type in a location or destination and it pulls up a map for you, but you can then save the image in serveral options, watercolour and toner are my preferred options, great for using on craft projects and something a little unusual.
TEN whole days and no blog post !
Lots of deadlines – paid work related and creative too, in fact last week past in a blur, including two trips up to London, one for a school trip to the Tate Modern and one for work.
Spending this week catching up again both work, creatively and on the housework front too. I am 5 weeks behind with project life – but it isn’t an issue I am committing some time to it each evening at the moment and getting it done.
My Papercraft Card commissions are all unto date – PHEW !
Got a new one for the NOVEMBER issue (really) waiting for my attention.
I have even managed to squeeze in couple of layouts, WHAT ???
I know, I haven’t done any layouts for at least three years so whats the reason – well you will just have to wait and see . . but I am super excited and very honoured, keep tuning in to find out.
here are a couple of sneaks
OK so I know I primarily design these journaling cards for my own benefit but there’s no harm in sharing is there ?
I designed this card to reflect the fact that some of my days nothing really happens, those days that we spend at home chilling, doing nothing significant.
Enjoy, these are intended to be printed as 6×4, if your printer allows it you could reduce the scale to 70% or 75% and they would print out at approx 4×3 too.
Download them in the usual place – HERE
Don’t forget – let me know your thoughts.
I am still very light on Photos for my PL pages – I am not complaining you understand just stating a fact, so I am thinking of ways to document our lives in other ways, one of those was to use lists – kind of obvious I know.
One of the things I thought I might list was what TV programmes we are watching at the moment so in honour of that I designed a little journal card for that purpose. Again it doesn’t just have a use as a PL journal card this would be great used as a journal card on any layout about TV habits.
As usual you can download it HERE
Please comment and let me know your thoughts.
The larger lined card is 6×4 and the smaller one is 3×4 if anyone would like 6×4 landscape let me know. I left a pale grey outline around each card for cutting purposes.
The little vintage TV set is an exclusive Scrapbook Printables Design.
back to horrible, grey, cold miserable weather this morning and according to the MET office the rest of the Easter break is going to be like this !
So a freebie to (hopefully) brighten your day
another set of border strips, these are traditional abc borders, they are designed to be printed onto plain white card (the blue lines disappear if you use any other colours apart from cream) again I trimmed mine using a border punch, these suit the notebook punch better.
pick them up in the usual place.
Here is the promised second peek at the Christmas Journal kit.
A5 Kraft binder with a three ring clip the rings are 1 inch (internal measurement)
Four tabbed festive word dividers
Four transparency/overlay pages
Four mini pockets (just the right size to hold the journaling cards)
Two large paperclips
Two mini file clips
Two white pearl star pins
and a partridge in a pear tree (just joking, that would be a nightmare to post)
OK, I hope that this gets those creative festive thoughts flowing, don’t forget to comment to be in with a chance of winning.

These are very versatile, the calendar tag could be used on any scrapbook page, just highlight or circle the month and day you need. This would make a useful addition to the Journal Your Christmas or December Daily projects.
the circular elements are designed to be punched out using a 3, 2 and 1 inch punch.
Have fun with these and feel free to link to your projects in the comments if you use my designs on your projects.
I WILL BE LOADING A SEPARATE POST LATER TODAY FOR THE CHRISTMAS JOURNAL GIVE AWAY – INTERNATIONAL READERS WELCOME !
