January is done

OKAY so I managed to keep up with the weekly documenting, sticking with the plan.

Just in case anyone is curious I am using a couple of fonts religiously, Magnolia Sky for the art brush words and AlexandriaFLF for the body text/journaling again all in the interests of keeping it simple for me.

I am somewhat light on photos for the last two weeks but I’m not letting that stop me from completing the week – hello patterned paper and project life cards.

Im sure that this album will get “less white” as I go along and get into my groove with this. but I like that it is giving me a foundation for all my pages. Its also helping me to stop over thinking all the design decisions.

My intention is to start using lots of inserts of differing sizes and maybe the odd 12×12 layout when I complete them too.

Im not going to keep boring you all with constant photos of all my pages but if you are interested I am posting them on an instagram account craftrebel65

Thanks again for checking in here.

Documenting 2017

Ok so its official I have started

Here are a couple of photos of my “title page” and my “introduction page” I’m going for a totally simple approach this year to help me stay caught up.

( apologies for the glare, insert embarrassed lazy face emoji )

The “around the sun” quote I lifted from Ali Edwards the rest is simple and self explanatory  I think, any questions feel free to ask in the comments

I am staying old school, sticking to 12 x 12 pages and a weekly Monday to Sunday format. I decided to have a Week Number card on each page that has a summary of the weeks happenings. So much in our weekly lives are routine and theres only so many times I want to write “went food shopping, went to drum practice, took dogs out, blah blah blah” Im sure in ten years time my kids aren’t going to want to see that either.

If there is a particular story to tell or a funny incident etc then I plan on highlighting that with a card of its own. The photos are mainly square as I’m lazy and use my phone, like all the time ! Most of the time Im putting them in on 3 x 4 white card with a caption, portrait orientation as Im using that style of pocket pages.

Stay tuned for more rambling and sharing of the first three weeks of 2017.

another summer giveaway . . .

I don’t know ho I manage d it but I missed posting completely last week, so I am going to post freebies today and tomorrow on official “hump” day.

I designed these to be quite simple and minimalist and printed them on plain white card stock, however I then made up some simple squared paper and printed the design onto that afterwards and I like the way that they turned out.

The outline on the cards is orange so that if you do print them on the grey squared background you can see where to cut.

So – here are both components and you can make your minds up which design you prefer. Download in the usual place HERE

just a fly by stop . . .

So, I am stopping by this morning to post my latest summer design, as lots of you will be going or already on your summer breaks away from home, I designed a couple of 6×4 “road trip” cards.

As always they are adaptable enough to use on any of your paper craft projects.

Download them HERE and let me know what you think in the comments.

Bright and Shiny

Well Hello Monday, the last week of school this week, I will be binning the boys shirts everyday instead of putting them in the wash WOO HOO.

SEVEN WHOLE WEEKS without having to was or iron another school shirt or PE kit !

As a mini celebration of that fact and because the boys and I have been talking about how we want to spend our summer holidays this year. We aren’t having a specific length of time away in another location so it will be a case of doing stuff that isn’t the norm or going on days out and possibly weekends away.

I have designed a little “Summer Manifesto” if you will, its just a to do list really, we probably won’t get all of it done but we are going to give it our all.

This version is my list, I designed it to be printed out on a 12×6 piece of card/paper as an insert for my “documenting Life” album.

Well Hello July . . .

. . . and hello to anyone who is still checking in on me these days – I have a hump day handout for those dedicated few.

I have been designing some cards for those of us using the pocket page protector style of scrapping.

Concentrating my efforts on some travel and summertime themed cards, here is the first of quite a few, I am aiming for one freebie a week all the way through July and August (along with posting at least three times a week – watch this space)

This set of 6×4 cards are super simple and could be used alone or very easily added to and embellished.

Enjoy and download them from the usual place HERE

Hump Day Handout

How about that title – is that a little bit irreverent ?

I was bored with “Freebie”

Anyway the purpose of this post is the same, I made myself a sheet of coloured squares with numbers on to use in my pocket memorykeeping album (really, that’s what we are calling it now !)

Apart from the fact that I have used colours to suit myself, obviously, I think that these are quite versatile and could be used on any number of projects.

Hopefully the larger size will print out at 2 inch square so that they can be used in the 2×2 inch mini pockets that are available now too.

If you print them out on cream card stock all the white areas will be cream, which gives you another option, remember the colours will be slightly darker when printed on cream card stock.

They look effective in the WRMK 2×2 inch instagram pocket pages.

Let me know what you think, I am open to reproducing them in different colour ways too I was thinking of just a grey outline on a white background.
