How the HECK did that happen ? Seriously I’m only just coming round from Christmas, My December Daily is still on my dining room table !
Its half term here in the UK and I have woken up early this morning and written my to do list. I know that I won’t get anywhere near getting it all done but its good to get it written down and have something to aim for.
Talking of writing lists I have recently been observing this whole planner bandwagon take shape. I have viewed it from a distance watching with interest wondering what all the fuss was about, without really knowing all this time I have had a planner !
its called a FILOFAX
Yup thats what we called a planner in the eighties, all this time I have been ahead of the trend and didn’t know it, I have always made my own pages and inserts from my scrap stash and used stickers and clips and pretty dividers – WHO KNEW !
So here I am at silly o’clock writing my list on pretty coloured post its and sticking them in my planner
As always a wonderfully designed and beautifully inspirational magazine.
read it HERE
Don’t forget to check out their new e-book too it contains 36 awesome projects by Kim Archer and the Jot Girls find it HERE
Inside you will find, 36 gorgeous projects beautifully styled and photographed, a lot of the projects have step by steps too and all are designed to be made using stuff from your stash.

I just wanted to check in and do a bit of a What I’m using post for my Documenting december Album this year.
The album is a cloth covered Studio Calico Handbook in a very festive red.
I bought mine from Hey Little Magpie unfortunately the red one is now out of stock.
The two papers that inspired my colour scheme this year are from My Minds Eye again purchased from Hey Little Magpie.
Ive complimented these papers with a couple of transparencies from Bella Blvd, white stars and red stars and several papers from the Claus and Co line by Simple Stories
I threw in a My Minds Eye – Christmas on Market Street gold foil velum for good measure too
The alphas Ive chosen, there are several – shimelle Christmas Magic Starlight Gold Foiled Number Thickers, some My Minds Eye all things alphas gold foil die cuts and some Amy Tangerine puffy aqua alphas too, all eventualities covered.
Thats the basis for my album this year, I will undoubtedly add to this “kit” as I go along both from my existing stash and from non scrapbooking sources too, I like using christmas promotional literature, shop catalogues and christmas decorations too.
Obviously I will be adding my own printables into the mix as well.
Looking forward to sharing this album with you all.
I am so tardy, no excuses, i just forgot, so without further ado here are my first FREE printables for you to use to document December.
They are 6×4 card sized, make sure you print at 100%
Im going to be using this as part of my Christmas album this year and will be dedicating a whole post to what I am intending to use, for those of you that are interested, next week
As always free for personal use, link backs and credit to me appreciated.
Downloadable version can be found HERE
. . . . . its before dawn on a Monday morning.
I was working on my Christmas cards over the weekend, every year I try and create a design that is simple and prints well, this year its a tree made from small stars. voila !
Im also using this design and that lovely brush scrip as a basis for some Christmas Pocket Page cards, these will be really useful for anyone who is documenting their december this year. So please check back on Friday for a brand new series of Friday Freebies.
In other news – I have started my gift shopping, both in my head and in reality, you know how that battle goes, right. Make the decisions first then write that list then do the first round with the retailers, come home ever so slightly deflated, not in stock, not as it appeared online (yes I still like to shop in the shops, in person) not in the right size or colour, etc etc.
However the Husband and I did make main gift decisions for the boys so that I can now order and purchase those – technology rules in this house and gift suggestions were emailed to G.mar and G.dad so those have been actioned too.
Personally I’m now on to list two with back up ideas and a future shopping date or two already penciled into my diary, I will be done before the beginning of December – most definitely
Hope all your holiday plans are coming together x
OKAY as promised just a small offering
I designed some 4×3 printable cards primarily for photo pocket scrapping but they are as usual very versatile and could be used on scrapbook layouts too.
please enjoy and credit me where appropriate.
download them in the usual place HERE
. . . not yet !
Sporadic – adjective. (of similar things or occurrences) appearing or happening at irregular intervals in time; occasional: sporadic renewals of enthusiasm.
YUP that sums up my blog over the last couple of years, unfortunately increasing the hours I work at my second part time job, has more or less, put paid to most of my creative endeavours. I feel quite sad about this and I am going to attempt to rectify this.
Time to re-evaluate those wasted hours spent prone in front of the TV, which is most evenings; my batteries depleted of their energy; bed calling my name earlier and earlier – what a sad state of affairs !
I don’t know about you guys but the dark evenings and gloomy afternoons, that this time of year brings with it, sap what little energy I have left.
So by way of a conclusion – Watch this space – I am designing some simple little autumnal bits to download and print.
